make sure you can get the top plug out first before you take off the rear diff cover.

take rear diff cover off, let it drain. wipe inside of diff with rag to get old stuff out. clean the cover from old gasket material. apply the new gasket material. wait like 5 mins for it to harden some. install diff cover. wait till the gasket dries. put in new fluid.

for the front all you have to do is drain and refill. since it does have a front drain hole.

My rear end shudders sometimes when taking off/turning from a stop. Did yours stop when you drained it and added the FM to it? I plan on doing mine within the next few weeks hopefully. Did you use the FM from ford or stuff from the auto store?

Mine used to shudder, and it does now again, at about 75k I drained the rear end to alleviate it, but I forgot the FM, so it only took a couple thousand miles for the shudder to come back. That is on my list of things to do, so hopefully I can cure it for a little while longer this time.
