guys im looking for a fuse block so i can wire all of my switches to it without running the wires through the door. im looking around and i cant seem to find a block that has one connection for a 12V source that will supply power to the whole aux. fuse block. can anyone help me out?
that's weird. i got one at auto zone that has one power line, but separate grounds for all the fuse points
i found one. oreilly didnt have one. they had just a plain fuseblock with 6 seperate circuits. i found one at advance auto. $10. i know what im doing today
so wait....you have 1 12v line that runs from the battery to inside the cab where you can hook up a direct 12v source to switches? how many can you run?
depends on what size fuse block you buy. bussman makes a 12 circuit fuse block. i bought the 6 for $10. installation was simple, all you gotta do is run power to the panel and plpug in your aux. items. the hardest part was finding a spot to mount it. Heres the one i bought + 12V power supply goes to the nut and bolt had to pull all of my wiring out and snip all of the power wires. i originally had all power wires to the switches run to the battery with an inline fuse. way too many wires running through the door. if youre wondering why i ran them through the passesnger side door its because i dont like the wires running through the rubber gromet under the driverside dash, out to the engine and then across the top of the engine to the battery...it looks like **** IMO. i mounted mine under the passenger side dash and drilled into the rubber matting under the carpet. im not a big fan of drilling into metal. i hate and worry about rust. pretty sturdy where i have it mounted anyways. the only thing you can see are the wires running behind the plastic piece where my switches are. the fuse block is far up underneath so that you cant see it. i like and it made everything alot cleaner. Next up. will be buying a second one of these little things so i can mount it under the hood and get all of the power wires off of my battery for all of my lights.
after my audio stuff...this is next along with the BIG 3. thanks a lot dude, just more crap i gotta do. atleast it will help
