I've kicked the idea around of possibly doing it when I get a lot of extra $$$ and maybe throwing in a Diesel it would be a 7.3 or sorry to say but possibly a Cummins

Just wondering how many out there have done the gas to diesel conversion?

Did u do it yourself and how long did it take?

What shop did it, where are they located and how long did it take?

    What was needed?

    What was the total cost?

What motor did u go with and why??

That would be an undertaking!!! I think it would be cheaper and easier to get a diesel F250 and transfer all your common goodies from this truck to the new one... My project truck was not expensive at all, $4500, was a 2001 with the 7.3. It ran great, but ugly as hell. You could take your bed, interior and all the trimmings off your truck now and restore an old work truck with a strong heart. That would be my approach...

This is definately the easiest and most cost effective way to go. When you can, check out fordcummins.com they break it all down for you and sell kits to do the cummins swap.

That is an undertaking. I think if youre going to swap a diesel in doing the cummins swap is your best bet. otherwise it would be cheaper to buy a roughed up diesel, put your good parts on it and get it some good paint.

Cummins all day long. Depends really on what motor you pick and what transmission. Normal cummins cost is around 10K and thats doing it yourself.
