Going to pick my brother up at the Airport and some chick switches lanes and nails my passenger door. Cops showed up and now the insurance is sorting it out. She's claiming its my fault somehow, even though she turned into me... The cops don't have a report filed yet so I don't know what her official statement is... Anyways, pics! The lane I was driving in... Pushed my passenger door in about 4" Did some work to her Grand Am though Just got a quote and its $2641 for repairs, including the $645 for a new door....
That's what I figured, but her insurance should take care of it, so it's not my money. It's not too bad, but if I get a new door out of it.... I'll get some clean pics tomorrow.
dude, you get her insurance company to cut you a check, go find a green door from the Jyard, and switch the internals/mirrors yourself and pocket about $2200.
Yeah, we'll see how it shakes down... We don't really have junkyards up here like you guys do. Evidently the witness (whoever that was) said I was in the left lane and accelerated to block her from merging... but they didn't say anything about me hitting my horn, which I think they thought was me accelerating... Waiting on the police report to get finished and hopefully they'll be able to pull some video from airport security.
it shouldn't matter if you accellerated or not. you are in the proper lane, she is attempting to merge, therefore she must yield to whomever already has established presence in the lane. if you don't get it filed in your favor, a lawyer would be benificial. i mean, her front end is damaged, and the most front part is your door, not even the fender. to me its a win in your favor... but we shall see.
