I agree, if it weren't factory equipment I'd change it out to the 02 valance. The two-tones weren't my favorite at first but now id like one of those too, they look best with 22" reps and a 2/4 drop. As for the grey ones, only available in 02 and they are kinda the stepchild but I love em, most people mistake them for clones. 00s were scab stepside, look awesome but weren't supercharged. 01s were screw but N/A too so they aren't very sought after. 03s are the most popular because of the colors, two-tone 100th anniversary interior, and supercharged with 8 thread heads.
S/c'd or not. still some nice trucks. I remember my neighbrs daughter had a stepside one. She bought it after she rode in the 97 when my parents still had it. ANd being the wife of a performance shop owner, that truck ran good for being N/A
I agree, they were still cool trucks for their time. I remember first seeing one on the lot and thinking, damn that's a hawt ass truck. I looked into buying a new 2002 grey HD a couple of months before I bought my truck, but refused to drop 36K at the time. Looking back I probably should have done it being I've kept the truck I ended up buying two months later almost 10 years. Back then I was younger and still worried about driving a new truck or car every 3 years, so I wasn't willing to swing that payment and insurance. Not to mention we were on the verge of starting to build a new house. Funny thing was, I was given another chance to get a black 2002 HD about 2 years later, but the guy who was wanting to sale it to me was in deep and the dumb bastard hadn't taken care of it at all. It was missing and knocking when he fired it up. Not to mention it had dents here and there all over it and the interior looked like it had been used as a work truck.
Yeah I'm sure. As much as I was hoping the deal was good, I knew better honestly as soon as I saw it, without him cranking it up. Once he fired it up, I knew to head for the hills.
looked at a navigator for the wife today that was the same way. shame some people don't take care of their vehicles
Josh over at NHTOC had 2 00's, one is a beast that runs 10.48 in the 1/4, the other was a street truck he bought with like 600 miles on it a couple years ago. He built it up but put it back to stock recently and sold to put the down payment on his new Raptor Screw.
Exactly. I wish I'd taken pictures of this truck. It honestly looked like the bed was used as a work truck and the interior was the same way. Mud stains all over it and the front center console lid was ripped off just sitting there not attached. I opened it and was like, WTF? It honestly was a sad sight dude. I'll never forget actually feeling sorry for what at one time was a really desirable truck.
i tell ya. i talked to this guy before i drove 30 miles to go look at it, pics from his phone looked like it was clean. i get up there, leather is dirty as all will get out, scratches, no shine in the paint, carpet wasn't vacuumed, dent in the back bumper, mismatched tires, and the motor had a miss while it was idling. he said, you want to take it for a drive? i almost hit the dude in the mouth. i was so pissed that i said yeah, i'll drive it right into the river, thanks for wasting my time.
The HD I looked at had mismatched tires too. Hell one of them was the wrong size. They come with 45 series and he had a damn 60 series tire on it and it looked like an All Terrain tire at that.
