So I have a volant cold air intake on my 98 xlt and have had noise issues with it. My friend just introduced me to the gotts mod for a stock intake and I believe I may try it out. His data logging shows better results with the gotts mod than the volant I have. Now the only question I have is will the gotts mod make any weird noises if installed correctly?????
shouldn't the big thing with a cai is most people take out the silencer when they install then and that is why you get the noise especially in the colder weather
I dont notice any noise. I didnt right after I done the mod but now im just used to it i guess. I could hear a faint suckin sound but i think that was only when i revved it up in neutral
the whole design of every factory intake is to reduce noise, thats why they have weird shapes air boxes and chambers off of them...so obviously changing from stock there is always a possibility to add noise
What kind of noises do you have? I took out the silencer and still no noise... I wouldnt mind it... Cant wait till i get my supercharger next fall... That will whine like no other!! And boom goes the dynamite.
