New here so I hope this is the right section. Recently purchased an 03 fx4 with 138,000 miles and I'm noticing a constant grinding noise while driving. I'm not sure what could be causing the issue. I've been searching the interweb for answers but nothing good so far! Thanks again
Is it 2wd or 4wd? at all times, or certain speeds? Forward and reverse? Straight or turning? I'm guessing that it's the front CV joints
You said your going to replace your tranny saturday? It could still be your tranny. If the noise stops, then you know it was your old tranny. Does it sound like its coming from the transmission or somewhere else? Could be what ak said.
It's a 4wd. And it happens all the time. I can only test it going forward because I have no reverse. Lol that's why I'm changing out the tranny. I haven't really paid attention to it on turning. I'll look into that. Yeah I feel the noise coming from the wheels or somewhere around that area.
