OK so i have heard differently from other ppl. This might seem like a stupid question but oh well. Does having the heat on in our trucks use gas?And if so how much you think it does?Or are there different variable's for how high and low you have the heat on? Any help would be great all. Thanks
Then why the hell do i have 3 ppl telling me that by having it on while i drive,it uses gas.Hmmmm.Idiots
my dads a 35year tech and i work on my $hit ask them if they have that to back them up... if not tell them to shove it. but using your a/c def uses more gas. more drag on the belt system.
x2. using the heater just turns on an electric fan to blow the hot air where you want it. Using the A/C turns on the a/c compresser, which uses a little more gas. Not enough to make me want to keep it off though!
using the heat.......... no it will not use more gas..sorta..... BUT.. if you get technical... using the blower motor on high would make the alt have to charge the battery.. there for it would maybe use like a dollar of gas over 10 years....... But if you use the heat in the defrost mode.... it will kick the ac compressor on and that will make you use gas
Running the defroster doesn't burn enough gas to hardly notice a difference. You burn more fuel by carrying a passenger with you. Who ever these people are telling you running the heat burns more fuel need to realize how their heating systems work.
