My 97 had a honeycomb grill.

Not out of the question that it was a 97 model bought in 1996.

i stand corrected. every 97 ive seen had the slats like mine. but even if it was bought in 96, its still a 97.

4x4's had the honeycomb, 4x2's had the bars.

Not sure.. it was in 97.

Yours may have had a grill swapped at some point unless you guys have owned it since new.

I remember the 4x4's and the 2WD and 4WD Lariat's having the Honeycomb.
