My 2002 had it, my 2013 does not and I really miss homelink. I've read a couple threads on different forums but the info seems incomplete. I've even had a hard time finding one for sale that matches my interior. Anyone here make the mod?
I see them new but $299 is a bit steep. 07 thru 14 Ford F 150 Genuine Ford Rear View Mirror w Homelink Temp Compass | eBay I'd venture to say an old sun visor model would work, take it out of the sun visor, and custom mount it somewhere. According to some threads I've read it only needs a power source. (Illuminated visor)
They just run off of any constant 12v source. If you can find one in a parts yard or cheap on flebay you could wire it up in the afternoon. Then just follow the instructions in your owners manual for how to program it.
