How to: fix loose gear shifter

    I had this gear shifter problem until I did a google search and came here! I see 2 bolts under there, but only one has a head?? May have broke off, but I tightened up the other one, and the gear shifter works like new again! Thanks you for the fix. Probally saved me at least $50.
    I guess I'll just keep my eye on it, and make sure it does not back out again. It that bolt long enough to get a lock washer under it? Thread locker? Is that a broke head in the pic?? or is it supposed to be that way?

    425,000 KM F150 Ex cab 4x4 4.6L and still going strong.

    yea the other bolt up there has a broken head. nice pic i couldn't get mine to turn up right.

    loose shifter

    Thanks Man saved me a trip to the shop. When it started loosining up it only took a few days till it started popping out of park. Very easy fix. thanks.
