Okay first you take the door panel off.Assuming you know how to take the door panel off, my write up will start here. Unscrew the stock speakers. There are 4 screws that hold them on. Then, unclip the speaker wiring to the stock speaker. Now to make your adapters, get a piece of 1/2 Plywood and trace around the stock speaker leaving about 1/8" of extra wood. Cut that out with any kind of saw, and mark your stock speaker holes where you mount them to the door on the piece of wood with a pen. Drill out these holes with a drill bit. Now trace around the new speaker on this same piece of wood and measure 1/2" in from that new circle, and draw a smaller one where the speaker will mount flush with the wood. Some speaker's sizes may vary, so sand and re cut until the speaker mounts down all the way on the piece of wood. It should look like this. Okay now install that back on the truck with the stock speaker mounting screws. Now drill a hole as the picture below shows for the crossover mount. This is a double wall so you will have to drill through both walls. We will NOT mount the crossover until later. Now drill two holes for your tweeter mounting where the picture below shows, and also drill another hole for the wires from the tweeter to go down and plug to the crossover. Now to wire everything up, I made a diagram to show how I wired my setup using the stock headunit. The wiring is very simple, as in all positives from the speaker go to the positive input for the mid bass woofer on the crossover. Wiring the tweeter to the crossover requires you to hold the door panel up in position so that you can pull the wire through the door to screw to the crossover. Now mount the crossover inside the door. One screw is plenty to hold it in the door.Below is a picture of where the screw and exact place I mounted my crossover at. Now plug in your speaker and use 4 self-drilling wood screws to hold the speaker to the new adapter. Next, Put the door panel back on and jam out to some tunes!!!!! Here are my speakers I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good loud component set. My speakers are Cadence CWM-6 6.5" Component Speakers. They can be found on ebay from the seller Best Audio Deals for 79.99. These speakers have very good reviews, and sound better than many $200 Component Sets. They also have a high DB rating of 93 so that you can run them off of a just a head unit and they will still sound good. This is just a picture of the Mid Bass Woofer. I hope everyone Likes my write up as this is my first how to.
