I hate philips head screws more than anything in the entire world.

    torx ftw i don't mind philips but would rather work with torx for sure. sorry about your sub

    i hate phillips , flat , and torx...... i prefer 1/4 , 5/16 , or 3/8 head screws ......

    sorry bout yer sub man , there gasket all the way around mine are broke loose :jester:

    i had a phillips screw driver go thru my hand. It was pretty cool cause i got to see the inside of my hand. :jester:

    I patched the sub up with some silicone and went ahead and installed it. Seems to sound okay. I'm letting it break in before i turn the amp up, but with the current amp I can only run the sub at 4 ohms rather than 2. I think I read somewhere that this means the sub is only running on half its power? Wired series rather than parallel. Next on the list is a new amp.

    glad to hear that your sub is working.

    you should post pics of how you fixed it incase anyone else puts a screw through theirs.

    Try drilling a pilot hole the next time and you won't have to put such a load on the screw.

    i swear i was gonna put that but figured i'd get slammed for making more work. but yea, nothin like a pilot hole... hell you can hand tighten a philips screw then w/ minimal torque.
