    poor egr flow. best thing to do is remove the egr valve, clean it and the intake port.

    P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected
    P0402 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected

    Had the same codes on the Mazda Tribute 3.0
    It was the DPFE sensor. I've had to put two DPFE and an IAC in 97K miles.
