Well yeah I mean if you could find a 54 inch tall tire that was only 10.5 inches wide you could run 54s on a 7 inch wide rim..

Height isnt the only measurement on tires lol..

You could probably run a 35x12.50 on a 15x7 rim but good luck getting a 35x14.50 on it..

My point is the only size constraint a rim has is width... it doesnt matter what size diameter it is it will never stop you from running a taller tire

He mentioned it as a winter driver in his intro thread. So You could assume 4x4. I think some 285's or 305's would look nice.

Stock rim on a stock expedition will fit a 285/70R17. Any larger and you'll have to do some trimming and may have some rubbing

305/70 is a little big. 285 would probably fit in fine

The general ran 305 goodyear mtr with kevlar on his truck without rubbing. I'm running 315s on stock 7.5" wheel.

You'll be fine with the rim as long as you can fit the tire. I would go 285 295 or 305 depending on what comes in the tire you're looking for.

Yeah, they used to be a hard to find size and really expensive
Still not cheap but they're not nearly as bad
