First off try bleeding your master cylinder.. ive had to do it on a few cars that wouldnt get a pedal Also if your looking at the front of the truck you should be bleeding your brakes in this order LR RR LF RF you always start with the wheel furthest away from the master cylinder and go from there to the next furthest away Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 2!
master cylinder is on the left (drivers side of the truck) start with RR then LR, RF and last LF lol ill try the master, I just bled it four different ways, still cant get a pedal.
I am able to build up pressure when the truck is parked while pumping the brakes. once I put the ttruck in drive and try to stop the pedal sinks all the way to the floor.
Sounds like you just have loads of air in the system, my guess would be if you were bleeding em an the level got too low in the master an it sucked air. There are other methods too you could try, gravity bleeding, pressure bleeding
Yeah thats why I said if your looking at the truck from the front... I always forget which side is left and right on a car... i think its suppose to be if you were sitting in the drivers seat but oh well lol Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 2!
I've had good results from gravity bleeding brake systems over the years. I watch the fluid level in the reservoir like a hawk even during pedal up, pedal down / bleeder screw opening / closing cycles.
been gravity bleeding for the last hour and a half. already went through two quarts of fluid. I can pump the pedal up and it will get stiff but as soon as I start driving it drops. pissing me off. just bought two more bottle of fluid. the seal around the piston on the caliper I just replaced was all ****** up. I wonder if it sucked air in. I had fluid squeeze out around the piston.
alright guys, been at it all fricken day. still the same low pedal. I went ahead and grabbed a new master cylinder, bench bled it and installed it. no difference. luckily my friend works at advance auto, she returned the cylinder for me. made sure the new cylinder didn't have any air bubbles in it and reinstalled it. then I thought that maybe oreillys overturned my rotors that I had them turn. bought two new rotors when I returned the master and installed them. thought maybe they turned them too low causing the pistons in the calipers to pop out to far? I don't know, just trying to figure this out. that didn't do a thing but the rotors are staying on. I really jacked the old rotors up when I let my pads get too low. figured I could save em by turning them, put some deep deep grooves in the friction material. I have gravity bled for hours, went through 5 bottles of brake fluid. I don't have a clue where to look now.
