Light bar mounting help

    I have a 42" led light bar and wanted to out it in my roof rack rail but it ls to big. Has anyone mounted it to he truck itself using self tapping screw? I can't find a mounting bracket from the company I bought the bar from

    you have a 10th gen right? (97-03) that I know of no one makes roof mounts just yet. the skin of the roof is very thin so just self tappers wont work.. you would need to make a mount for the rack would be wisest. can you post a picture of your roof rack rails?

    I got 1/2 self tappers from work if that doesn't work ill silicone it and find something else

    Do you have a pic? It shouldn't be too hard to fab up some mounts to attach it to your rack

    then why not just mount a cross bar to the rack and get bar clamps from the light bar to the cross bar?

    this ^^ beats the hell outta putting holes into your roof.

    self tappers at that!

    while it may seem strong when you jiggle it with your hand but drive down the road, go over pot holes and speed bumps...itll get loose real quick.

    No way would i just use self tappers to mount uour light bar. Your crazy. You better fab up something better to mount it to
