Found this forum on expedition forum i belong too and tryed another forum but got no answer to my ?. 2004 f-150,while wife was filling up few weeks back something snapped on gas cap lid as she was trying to open it up to get to cap.Now lid flops back and fourth going down road,was told by someone theres a spring that broke accesable from rear fender well.Took to my mechanic that i,ve used for 15 years and he says he doesent see where anything broke or where spring would even attach too,suggests new lid from Ford.I,m disabled and cannot climb down under truck and look myself,did mechanic miss this one or anyone know of a fix?Thanks,Paul
Can you take a few pics of your gas door? its easier to determine what may be wrong if we can look at what is not there for comparison. get some pics, and we'll get you some answers ASAP.
