well in my quest of trying to fix all the problems with my truck, i am now waste deep in an exhaust overhaul, question is, the bolts or studs that hold the y-pipe to the manifolds, if i break them off, can i just punch them out or do i need to drill them out?

cuz thats more money haha, now i got myself in a little mess, i gave it a quick try to get them off and all they wanted to do was round the nuts, so i quit after 1 bolt before i effed it all up, now i have nearly zero exhaust after the manifolds and need to find an exhaust shop the will bend it up without cats

its the same here, but you still have to have cats to be legal, only thing is no one checks to see if they're there, also i dont have the proper tools to get this rusted sh!t apart, i.e. a mother clucking torch!

spray them for a few days with some fluidfilm or pb blaster and itll loosen them up...also a propane torch fromn autozone will help too

Let the truck get hot then pull them out. That's how I always do it and it works every time.

yea but its not like alabama up here, the threads are pretty much gone, there is just a heavy azz coating of rust, it will take a torch to get them out, and i dont own one, and i love the heck out of PB blaster, but even it aint gonna do the trick here

heading back out to the parts store so i can rig it enough to be drivable, couple more weeks and i'll be back to driving the escort everyday for school again so i will have all the time in the world to work on the truck
