My 04 5.4 started missing a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't bad at 1st but got a lot worst. I checked all the coils with a new 1 and they were all good. I got a code for #7 so I changed the plug and coil and it didn't fix it. I swapped the #7 injector with 6 to see if the code switched to 6 but I can't get it to throw a code. I can turn my edge on level 3 and it doesn't miss near as bad. Is it possible that the edge is sending more fuel to a bad injector which is not making it miss as bad? It also threw a bank 2 lean code so a bad injector would explain for that. What do you guys think?

did you have a miss when you switched and was it still #7 or did it switch to #6?

then pull the plug wire on the cylinder you think it is and see if it makes any diffenece,,,,if it dont then thats your culprit...then go from there....also....try starting your truck up in the dark with no lights on at all.....that way if your losing fire or "jumping" fire you can see it and fix it accordingly

I got an appointment for next week to have it hooked up to a computer system and have it diagnosed by a local shop. They only charge 40 dollars to figure the problem out.

good luck. Easy way to rule out the edge is tune it back to stock and wait for the error codes.

Thanks guys. I hate to let someone else work on my truck but I work 60 hours a week and don't have time to fool with it.
