thats definitely just that adapter housing. Compare the rib and bolt holes I drew arrows to to the second ebay listing I posted.

Looks that way to me. On the autos there is fluid in that adapter which would explain the leak, and that's definitely the part that is broken

Hey sorry i havent been on in a while ive been pretty busy working 2 jobs. It turns out the crack extends into the topside of my transmission case and ive been told it cant be welded properly, so there is no cheap fix. Im getting a used tranny for $500 and i plan on installing it myself because i dont have the extra $800 for a professional mechanic to do it for me.

Does anyone have a how to on removal and installation of 4R70W transmissions? or just any helpful tips?

Use a lot of wd-40 on the exhaust. Not sure if this is true on 10th gen but on 11th gen 4r70s you have to pull the crossmember to get the exhaust out. I think everything else is pretty straight forward though.

well the exhaust is gonna have to be redone because the previous genius that owned the truck had some really bad exhaust work done to it, they welded the manifolds to the exhaust pipe so its probably gettin sawzalled right the f**k off.
