By the way I tried the tailgate down and it made it worse I use 1/4 tank goin to my gf's and coming home and I used 1/2 tank normal driving (easy on the throttle and low rpm's) doing the speed limit too.

We never said to drop the tailgate nn and how far is it to your g/fs? is it usually a 1/4 tank there and a 1/4 tank back? What was the wind like, and traffic?
Have you changed your oil yet? Whats your tire psi? How much extra crap is in your truck?

There's lots of sh!t that affects your fuel mileage.

The biggest mpg gain I've seen was getting my Edge, I keep records of every fuel up and there is a marked difference of before and after, of about 2mpg on average. I just ran a tank of 90octane and tried to keep it under 3000rpm. Went about 510mi averaging 15.75mpg, previous tank was 480mi and 13.5mpg.

The one guy said it's proven to work with the tailgate down i just proved him wrong. And it's 1/4 tank round trip. It's an hour drive speed limits from 35-45 town which I'm in a town for about 1-4 min and 55-60 on the country roads. I never brake but for stop signs I pass what few cars I end up behind. The wind is always calm. Just got my toolbox full of tools nothing in the bed. I'm sure 350 pounds of tools can't take it from the 15 or so stock to 9 I can lift the tool box full by myself but is super heavy so it's 300-350 pounds. Tires are filled to normal psi all radials. Just did a oil change with 10w 30 and seafoamed it a week ago.

Also does anyone use those e3 plugs that are supposed to burn fuel better?

I wouldn't be using any plug other then Motorctaft or Autolite in a Ford, just for the record.

NGK's are usually for forced induction and motorcrafts see the best results in stock N/A fords. Which tune are you using now btw

Yep bud, im not trying to be mean but your tune is prolly the reason because a tow tune lets in more gas and stuff so you can have towing power. Its like the affect of a carb running rich I think.
