Mpg gain?

    The viscosity of the oil will make a mpg difference. Since your running tree sap in your truck, you should expect shatty mpg.

    Yup, motor has to work harder with thicker oil. Using thick oil is like pulling a trailer all the time. Besides with him being in Florida, he has no need to run a thick oil.

    but tractor oil is free for him so it's ok to use it

    So tractor oil is like trying to suck a golfball through a garden hose?
