its like the nite dood...i had the 3;55's in the rear end and it got decent milage with a 5spd...but when we put the 4spd bulldog in front of it it got 11mpg loaded or empty...i pulled a loaded trailor from birmingham to the house wieghing about 2 tons and it got the same milage as it did going down there without the trailor....its all in the gears

Man that does seem low. We have a 2011 F-450 at work with that engine, FX-4 package and 4.30 gears. Pulling a 12k 44ft triple axle enclosed gooseneck we get 9-11. However, we only get 18 empty. Its bone stock other than a wrap with the company logo. We also put a 65 gal tank in it, you can go almost a thousand miles on one fill if you aren't towing.

How many miles on the truck? I know there is a built in break in period programmed into the ecu's so that could be it. Maybe take it to ford an have them reflash it. We get about 9 towing a 8k trailer with my dads new ecoboost. ...

That does seem low. But it could all just be gears still would think bout taking it back and having ford look it over. Put that warranty to work. Pulling blowcain back from Nashville I got about 14mpg when I usually get 19. I have 3.73s.

quick way to see if you have an issue is to tow something heavier around the same type of roads and see what the mileage is.

also have you looked into a titan fuel tank? 51 gallon

Thanks for the help guys. I think it's just the hills in my area. If it was flat it might be better. I am looking into the Titan fuel tank. I just am not sure about if it leaves room for the def tank?
