Considering it's illegal to drive without headlights here...yes, I'd say I do. I'd rather leak oil than get a headlight ticket every 5 minutes.

Got a new starter coming in tomorrow. I figured out what caused it last night but came under fire for the way I take care of my truck and didn't mention it. It's not from the oil, the end of a bolt with nut still attached broke off and made contact between two of the wires going into the solenoid. It had welded itself between them even. Created a short and it was all down hill from there. Just more of my ****ty bad luck is all.

i was gonna say it was getting stuck in the "start" position and you could rebuild your solenoid and contact points for like 15 dollars, but nevermind now lol

the diagram at ford dealer today was showing that there are four bolts holding the starter in place. Two where you pull the bolt out and two that you take a nut off of. I can only find one of the "nut type" bolts. I'm assuming the broken one is...was...the other one. It is the same type. Should make replacing it fun :suicide:

As for a rebuild, the end of the solenoid seems to be decintegrated, beyond repair it looks.
