I picked up the truck like five months ago and the dealer told me she would be good for 3k as they had done a full service... but ive never leaked or noticed the signs of burning oil. Im just thinking that the dealer screwed it up or straight lied to me... either way, i had the shop go over every nook and cranny and i now have a small list of a few maintenance items to get to. Nothing too serious or pressing though. They went through the truck, fixed the short and rechecked all the wiring, did the oil change and lubed all the fittings under the truck, then went back through the whole thing again just to be sure. They charged me a whole hundred twenty bux and then told me that if i had to come back for anything else, it would be free labor because they love their military customers and i had a good sense of humor... apparently being friendly and making folks laugh is worth money 'round here

I would chalk it up to the dealership lying. Keep an eye on your oil just to be sure.

5.4 2v's use oil between changes. The ones I've had did and others have had the same experience. It's not unusual to use a 1qt or 2 between changes.
