Need some photoshop help

Ok guys, i know this is probably really simple, but im using GIMP and cant get it to work.

All I need is to remove the background from this picture -




As in, i need to remove the white from it, and just want the words.

i dont think you can just delete the background of an image like that. is there another background color you want besides white?

 

thanks man...ive been able to get most of them, but its the damn words that are fuggin me up

not really lol. i need it to be transparent. thanks though, ill keep trying on it.

 

I won't be home for awhile or else I'd do it man. If you still don't have it by 3pm MST I'll attempt it
