I am thinking of doing the Sea foam to my truck. Need to know the process and benefits from doing it. Almost to 100,000 miles so I am curious J.Wal
Did it in my buddies ranger to help with the idle, and startup. 1/3 bottle in oil 1/3 in the gas tank then the last 1/3 in the vacuum line off of the brake booster. This is a two man operation as you can stall the truck if you pour too fast. Let it run till you don't see any more white smoke. Change the oil after ~500 miles. I probably should do it to my F150 as well.
Follow the instructions on the can, you can used a straw or short length of plastic tubing to siphon it from the can to the vacuum hose. I have heard some people hydraulic lock the engine by trying to put to much in the thru the vacuum hose. Here's my vid-ja of the carbon cleaning smoke output. I sometimes can find it on sale at Northern Tool for $7.99. Seafoamin' The 2001 Ranger XLT 3.0 Flex - YouTube
Do it. If you haven't already, buy a can of MAF cleaner too. You'll notice a nice improvement. I've always poured it in by myself. Just take your time and don't pour too much. When you start hearing the engine idle stumbling or slowing down, stop pouring until it steadies back out. Dump the remainder in the fuel tank. Shut her off for 10-15 minutes. Fire her back up and smoke out till it clears up. That's how I've always done it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't recall that. My father in law use to get his pops to get it over in Alabama for like $7 a can. The cheapest place to buy it here is Wal Mart and they want $9 a can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
