New Bowtie

    Finishing touches... replacing the crushed Bowtie on the airbag. Couldn't get the tabs to hold it quite right, so I clipped them off and used Goop to glue it in place... perfectly.

    I think you mean blue oval, not bowtie :jester:

    It was actually listed as a Bowtie and sold as such. Still... it's nice to have the blue oval Ford emblem looking good!

    No idea why they called it a bowtie, though :)

    Not sure how I got to "bowtie" in my Google search but looking for one I ended up here. Been calling it a bowtie ever since :)

    Must be named from the prongs or tabs.

    Haven't worn a bowtie since I was
    about 9 years old and only drove
    bowties when I had to in the course
    of my employment.

    Lol... near as I can figure it may have originated with that other truck brand who's emblem actually does look like a bowtie. The grille emblem is called an emblem when you search to buy one and I'm pretty sure I was searching for steering wheel emblems when I found the bowtie for sale... go figure :)
