So I am thinking about doing a true dual with a X pipe and the dynomax bullets. I have the 4.6, gotts mod, currently a edge programmer, and K&N filter. I want to know if I will benefit from running true duals and if I do that what would be the benefit of getting my edge programed to a gryphon? MPG gain? power gain? I dont know much of anything about the gryphon so any info would help.
gryphon is worth it. you will gain a few more hp with Bill's custom tunes and the fact that he knows what he is doing and used to work for Edge. now he just rebadges Edge Evos and sells them as Gryphons which can accept his custom tunes. i love my bullet. eventually i'll have dual bullets also.
well I want some Hp gains along with MPG. what would I half to do to get him to program it? Set my truck back to stock and send the edge to him? What will it cost?
upgrade cost is $25 without any tunes. tunes are i think $30 if you get a monochrome gryphon, not a cs or cts. cs and cts tunes are $60. and yes, put it back to stock and send it in. you can also tell him in the notes section of the order form how you drive, highway-city ratio, and whether you want a power tune or mpgs. he'll hook you up, it just takes about a month but well worth the wait. i first upgraded my edge with no custom tunes. then i had my cai and a custom tune. then ordered 2 more customs to work with the cai. then i did the gotts mod and got a custom tune for that since the cai tune would no longer be compatible. now i have 3 custom tunes to work with the gotts mod and i love them. keep in mind that i waited a month or more each time i ordered so that tells you how satisfied i am with their customer service and product
I'm saving up my money cuz my next mod will be updating my Edge to a Gryphon. I read up a lot on other sites and most guys say the Gryphon 87 tune is about the same as the Edge 93...
what does the regular "upgrade" do? I have the original edge so thats good. I dont know what the benefits of each custom tune are. why have 3 tunes? It may be alot but can you explain this in some detail?
ok. i have an 87 perf, 87 tow and 93 perf tune to work with the gotts mod. i told Bill i wanted the 87n perf to be a mileage tune, the 87 tow to be a torque tune to help my 4.6L, dog of an engine lmfao, tow 6000 lb machines with ease and the 93 perf to be an all out power tune. each one of them have delivered on what i wanted and i can really tell the difference.
keep in mind that mpg is always affected by the way you drive. a regular upgrade i'm assuming would be just converting your evo to a gryphon with the 3 custom tunes of your choice. i chose to have no custom tunes when i upgraded due to the fact that i was getting codes from having the edge and a cai and no custom tune to accommodate it. i wanted to see if Bill's canned tunes would stop my code from appearing, and it did but i got another code. that's when i got the custom tunes one by one to see how they worked. in the end i found out that even with custom tunes, my cai was getting worse results than having the gotts with custom tunes
