Hey all needing some help. I recently purchased a 04 f150 5.4 xlt supercab and I took it through the drive through at sonic and it just plain died. It did it again at a stoplight seems like it idles rough. It runs good on highway. I hooked up the OBD and I got an error code of running lean in bank 1 and 2. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. My name is James by the way. Thanks again

Welcome. This sounds like a problem I had a few times with my old f150. When coming to a stop the rpms would just fall untill the truck finally died. It would start right back up and drive untill i had to stop again. It was the throttle position sensor once replaced it and problem stopped untill a year or so later when it was the fly by wire system on the side of the throttle body itself. But no one just sells the computer part to replace. You have to get a whole new throttle body with it already on there. I ended up having to go to ford and order a new one.

Throttle position sensor? Just a plug in? An easy fix?

You're gonna have to remove some plastic engine covers an a few things to get to it most likely but other than that it's two little bolts an plug an play :peace:

Yep just like Danny said just one plug and 2 bolts. Easy fix if that is the case.
