New guy to this forum with 2000 f150

Thinking about selling the truck this summer

 

A 6.4. If I get one it will have to be stock (I definitely don't want anything that has previously been tuned) a crew cab, 4x4, at least an xlt package, and preferably a short bed, I could care less about the color. 08 6.4s seem to be going in the low 20s around here so if I can find a good one below 25k and if I can get 7 or 8k for my truck then I'll probably jump on it. I just gotta keep payments below 300 a month

 

I found a perfect 09 f250. Red crew cab 6.4 4x4 short bed Lariat 22k. To bad they won't hold it till august for me lol

 

The more I look at a 6.4 the more I want one but honestly it probably won't happen til at least my senior year after I factor in insurance, fuel, property tax, and the cost to delete it and tune it it just ends up being to expensive. I'm an engineering major so there are a lot of paid internships so If I get a good one it could happen sooner

 

Definitely wait to buy a diesel. Unless you have a job that requires a lot of towing, having a 3/4 ton diesel is just a good way to spend money. They aren't great daily drivers unless you're commuting 100+ miles and have a super stiff suspension. In town driving and short trips are death on diesels.

Someday I'd love a crew/short bed diesel, but I'd get a commuter car that gets 30+ mpg for a daily.

 

I drive 40 miles a day round trip to school 4 days a week and most of that is high way. I really don't tow or hual much at all now, just the occasional jon boat or load of wood. I know this sounds childish and it is but I want a diesel because of there Power and how easy it is to build power. I wouldn't be one of those tool bags that go and roll coal everywhere tho. Also the fuel mileage is a lot better than my 5.4. A crew cab short bed 6.4 or 6.7 would be awesome but I just can't afford the maintenance or insurance on that right now.

 

I'd say try and find a 12v Cummins but that'd be frowned upon

Detailed the truck yesterday. Washed, clayed, washed again, mirror glazed, then waxed. It's started raining on me half way through and it rained today and somehow the stupid thing has these wired black water spots on It. I must have drove though something
Stayed shinny for a few hours now it covered in these marks
