I'm thinking of swapping out my LF240s for something that will fit behind the grill. But I don't want to lose the output (1lux @900m) they put out. I'm thinking of the KC Rally 800s or Lightforce 170s, both in HID.

I can get the 170HIDs (1lux @800m) locally for around $350, or buy the KCs from Amazon for ~$200. I can't find any lux/lumen/candlepower ratings for them though, and not a lot of reviews. I would retrofit the KCs with some of my existing ballasts and save some money that way.

    Links to the KCs
Amazon.com: KC HiLiTES 1850 Pro-Sport 8" 35w Internal Ballast HID Single Spot Beam Light with ABS Stone Guard: Automotive
Amazon.com: KCHilites 1850 HID 35w IB 8 Inch Long Range Lights Black (Each): Automotive

    Any other ideas/opinions?

Maybe a 30" Lightbar would do ok. But still only has 1 lux @ 600m and costs almost $1000 :jawdrop:

That's why I'm leaning towards the 170HIDs. The new Hyperspot from Rigid looks perfect for what I want, but I don't have $2000 to spend on one...

How far is a city block? I'm in Alaska remember lol. I don't think anything short of a 6" HID is going to make me happy. I need to talk to my buddy and see if he's still selling the Lightforces. If not, then it'll be the KC 8".

Here it in Kc every 8 blocks is a mile...

1 block would be 1/8 of a mile.
