I'm thinking of swapping out my LF240s for something that will fit behind the grill. But I don't want to lose the output (1lux @900m) they put out. I'm thinking of the KC Rally 800s or Lightforce 170s, both in HID. I can get the 170HIDs (1lux @800m) locally for around $350, or buy the KCs from Amazon for ~$200. I can't find any lux/lumen/candlepower ratings for them though, and not a lot of reviews. I would retrofit the KCs with some of my existing ballasts and save some money that way. yeah....lightbars suck for anything past about 300m. With my MH1, matchboxes, and 6" HIDs, I've got the up close stuff covered. I'm looking for >500m lights for around $300 http://www.lightforceusa.com/mwg-internal/de5fs23hu73ds/progress?id=/l2vpIXqFF&dl http://www.highperformancelighting.ca/LIGHTFORCEc.pdf
I have these on my bumper now, distance is amazing! That's why I'm leaning towards the 170HIDs. The new Hyperspot from Rigid looks perfect for what I want, but I don't have $2000 to spend on one...
I have 6 hella black magic on the front of my truck and love them. The black housing is great looking and can light up stop sight four city blocks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How far is a city block? I'm in Alaska remember lol. I don't think anything short of a 6" HID is going to make me happy. I need to talk to my buddy and see if he's still selling the Lightforces. If not, then it'll be the KC 8".
