Ok well i totally scored i got a older blue thunder MTX 10" sub for free. It came in a box but the box is covered in mold on the inside bottom. So i researched this thing and found that the RMS rating is like 50 to 250 watts and max is 500. The needed air space for a sealed box is like .75 cubic feet. Mounting depth is 5 3/8. I was wondering if it is possible to build a box that will fit under the drivers rear seat in my 2002 ext cab truck. And if anyone has any ideas on how to make it hit harder tell me please. sorry for the long winded post but i wanna cover everthing i think i need to.:peace:

Supercrew sound makes a box so it is possible. I would say use 1/2" mdf to make the box so you can have the right mounting depth. Usually 3/4" is used but if you use a few braces you can make 1/2" work easily with 1 10". Leave room for excursion, determine if you want to downfire or upfire. What is the impedance (ohm) on the sub? You can find an amp that does 250W RMS quite easily for cheap

its a 4 ohm sub and i think fireing up would be the better choice. what do you mean by excursion?

Excursion is the movement of the subwoofer cone often referred to as xmax. It is usaully in millimeters so you can get by with leave about 1.5" between the sub and your seat. That way there is room for the sub to move and load off the bottom of the seat for more cabin gain and cleaner sound

I was thinking about fireing up just cause my buddy did it in his car and it looked cool. but now thinking fireing down would protect it more. and i was gonna be nice on it but just wanted to make sure it had the power it needed. Specs say xmax is 9.44

i already have a 6" bazooka tube for quality but think that i might slightly underpower this sub so it will be fine.
