Alright, been lookin' at getting rid of my 2012 Nissan Titan for a 2005 F-250. Here's a list of stuff that was in his ad.... 2005 f-250 with 162,xxx miles Has Line-X paint job and the floor boards and bedliner as well Ranch hand bumpers front and rear Warn 9500 ti winch Led off road lights EGR delete kit Air raid cold air intake 4" straight pipe Superchip programmer Toolbox Leveling kit and 35'' tires New wheels and tires from discount tire with full warranty and a full size spare Will include a train horn that isnt hooked up 15,000 OBO What else should I ask him? And what else should I be on the lookout for? I'm new to this whole diesel engine and just wanna get this right. Thanks guys!
I'd watch out for a 6.0 that's been chipped and only deleted and not studded. If it has those kinds of mods, the odds are its been ridden hard. There are a lot of guys that take care and maintain their diesels, but when it comes to buying a modded truck it's always guilty until proven innocent. I'm not well versed in the 6.0, just the basic EGR, over boost, over heating and cracked head gaskets. Most say the EGR delete will prevent that, but If I ever (which I probably won't because I love my 7.3) get a 6.0 it will be studded and deleted. Now on a general note, read up on that superchip and see what it does and doesn't do, a lot of canned tuners don't adjust shift points for the tranny. Could be over working the tranny, just a thought. I think the 6.0 guys go with the edges, or the sct's with custom burnt tunes. But I would definitely check for the obvious signs of blown or cracked head gaskets. Milky oil on the dipstick or the oil cap. Sent from your Mom's house using Tapatalk
