As several of you know I got a new truck recently, and it has a 6 inch Fabtech lift. I haven't ever had a lift on my truck before, and I enjoy going off road and toying around (nothing crazy but a few mud trails) So I'm curious is there any way that I need to clean it differently with the lift and all afterwards? And as far as the engine goes, my old truck had several issues with mud getting into the engine, I was told that I should invest in some gap guards, and this truck doesn't look to have them, would that be something I need?
You only need gap gaurds on a body lift. Yours is all suspension lift. No late model engine of any brand handles water/ mud on the engine. Just clean it good as usual.
No, I was planning on doin the gotts mod, and it's got a brand new filter in it, although I plan to switch it out for a k&n filter eventually. Would that affect it?
You should be fine with the gotts+ K&N and mudding. Its a long ways for water to come up the inside of the fender, then that 3ft of tube, through the filter, and into your MAF
