Ha ha nope. For a $60 fix it was worth it. It certainly didn't make it 100% better, but it made it tolerable to me, and for the most part it un noticeable. Sent from my iThingy using Tapatalk
Well today my $400 brake job turned into a $500 brake job! ha ha. Nothing ever goes as planned. Denny just left my place, he helped my get my brakes done, It was great to have a hand with the sun going down so soon! I got some EBC slotted and dimpled rotors and EBC greenstuff pads for the rear now. Ive got EBC all around, font and rear separated by about 3000 miles. Things were shaking pretty bad, Had the driver side rotor warped, and the passenger side caliper was seized up. Luckily oreillys had one in stock. Shouldnt need brakes now for a long time!
I got them from our local guy. He takes care of all of our trailers, trucks and my moms van. He price matched them for me. I was originally going to get them on ebay, but most places have the rotors from 250-280 and the pads from 80-90. If you go EBC I strongly recommend the green stuff 7000 pads. great for towing. Ive got the dimple/slotted sport rotors paired with the 7000 pads. They have a great warranty 100000 on the rotors against warping, and 75000 on the pads. I understand that doesnt mean thats how many miles theyll last ha ha, but its a great warranty. so far the performance is great! My truck stops so much quicker and effortlessly, soooo smoooooth ha ha. EDIT, the warranty against warping does not fall under wear and tear and appears the 100k and the 75k warranty is what my guy gives us against warping, or pads failing. i will vouch for it though, my dad had these on his 250, he didnt change his front brakes for 65k. He, just did them a few weeks ago. It sounds like im selling you the damn brakes! ha ha. Jut trying to give you a heads up on a great product!
Im working on a much needed chore right now. Cleaning and re organizing my tools, shop bench, and truck boxes. My brother in law threw some axle shafts in my truck box and got grease EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. So i degreased my truck box and herculined the inside. I got a couple gift cards for xmas so I got some totes and bins to organize my tools. I got some new tool sets for my shop bench for my Bday in sept so Im finally swapping all my old stuff into my truck, and cleaning up my work area in my garage. Heres the contents of my truck box, plus all the organizers and tools that are going in. Its quite the mess, but its a start. heres my new back up floods and a couple of lights from my lumber rack i took off, Im going to mount them somewhere on the sides and back of my truck box. and of course replace my back up lights under my bumper. Messy! Herculined! and a quick look around my messy garage. The paper on my wall is the program from my buddies funeral. Ive got A LOT of work to do, but it will be nice to have a clean workspace again.
