Official Oil Thread

Post up what Oil+Filter you're running and change interval. If you want to fight about what brand is better, start a new thread.

 

Example of a good post

I run Royal Purple with a K&N Filter. Have ran 5w-20 for the last 35k and am trying 5w-30 this time.

 

I run Motorcraft Filter. I used to run R&P for the first 70K miles, but have switched to Mobil One Synthetic 5w-20 w/ 110K on the clock. I am also running Mobil One LS Synthetic 75w-90 in my diff. I have R&P in my trans and will always use R&P since that is what has been flushed w/ for the last 3 yrs.

I normally change oil every 6K miles because I drive 2K+/mo. I'm sending my oil out to Blackstone when I get my trans flushed, and will post the report here.

 

I run all Motorcraft products

 

motorcraft + valvoline high mileage 5w-30. change every 3500

 

motorcraft 5w-30 and FL-820s motorcraft filter. change every 3k.

 

motocraft 5w-20 and their filter. About every 6 months now that the truck only get to see 16 miles monday thru friday

 

I run mobile1 5w-20 synthetic with a motocraft oil filter. Im due for my second oil change since i had the truck i change it around 6k. I have 66k on the clock right now.

 

I have always used Mobil 1 usually use kn filter

 

Before i broke my truck

Castrole syntech fully synthetic/Wix filter changed from 5,400-6,000 miles.
