CEL came on this morning, so when i got back to the house i pulled the code - P0420. As far as I can tell its the cat that went bad. Would I be noticing a change in performance or anything? My truck isnt missing as far as I can tell, so I'm wondering what could be causing my cat to go bad.

Also, could the code mean that I just need to replace an O2 sensor?

I usually pull the light bulb (on your truck you can just cover the Led and be done) because those idiot lights will worry you and nickel and dime you to death.

Ok. Go ahead and spend $150 a price on oxygen sensors and buy a new cat for $450 :poker:

One other thing....I don't need a idiot light to tell me when my truck ain't running right :poker:

if its an o2 id just buy a dummy o2 off of a racing site that makes its own code to make the computer run right then your cat problem is also solved i think they sell em on jegs and or summit racing

If you are getting new cats just go with a Magnaflow High Flow cat. Much cheaper than oem
