Has anyone used the new spray paint for plastic with success on the black honey comb grille?

I used it on PVC pipe and it worked great. Seems like painting the grill is better than Black Wow and it's not too hard to get the grille out to do a nice job.

Lol... am I delusional? Can spray paint make it look great and last for 3-5 years?

Yup. Many people have done it and actually recommend it.

If it does fade, it only takes a few minutes to re do it.

I was gonna add that your truck needed that when you posted pics. It'll bring back years to Its age.

Use some adhesion promoter and you shouldn't have a problem with paint sticking and staying

Cool! It will be done... and i bet fairly soon. And, unless you tell me it's better to take it out... i'm thinking i'll just tape/paper off the front and do it in place on a calm morning. yes/no? I do want the best job possibly but I don't see where taking it out will help much.

Did you pick up on the chrome repair from a wear spot on my bumper from where the critter crasher was mounted? Driver's side. I only point it out because the chrome paint I got at the auto parts store -- that had a very chrome looking cap -- wasn't very "chromey" but still looks a lot better than a rust streak.

I thought the special for plastic spray paints had the adhesion part figured out and extra wasn't needed. That a was my experience with PVC pipe anyway.

Nope just buy 1 can of each, paint, and adhesion promoter.

I would take the grill out. Its gonna be just as time consuming as taping it off and personally I hate taping **** off. The grill surround is something like 12 screws and then the grill insert pops right out. Then lay it down in your yard and go to town lol

Excellent! I'll do it the right way the first time :) A guy did a step by step on taking the grille assembly out... looked as easy as dash, doors and headlamps. Thanks!

I found the link to how to take it out. Can you tell me how to get an active link posted here?
