Well after a few years I am FINALLY gonna look into a couple odd things my truck does. This is all stuff that came with the truck, nothing I have performed or installed. High Beams-the HID headlights are a Hi/Lo setup, with 4 Hellas wired into them. When the Highs come on, so do the Hellas. The problem is, while the Hellas always come on when the high beams are switched on, the headlights themselves almost never change. In other words, turning the high beams on does not change the headlights, but does turn the Hellas on. In fact, the Hi/Lo function on my headlights has only actually worked a few times since I got the truck. When they do decide to work, I can go back and forth between high and low a few times before they settle on usually sticking to high beam. Fogs on with High Beams-I know this is a mod and I love it. When the High beams are turned on, the fog lights stay on. But occasionally when I turn the High beams on the fog lights will shut off. When this happens, it will usually stay like this for a few days. Highs come on, fogs go off. After a day or two though, it goes back to fog lights staying on and I won't get the problem again for 6 months or more. Door lock/unlocks-When unlocking the truck using my Viper alarm and remote start system, most of the time the alarm (simply the horn beeping, nothing fancy) will go off as soon as I pull the door handle. Because of this I have been putting the key in the lock to unlock the truck pretty much since I got it. This isn't too big a deal to me but it does bug my friends when they have to wait for me to press the unlock on the inside of the door for them. Also, when I press lock on the remote, the doors will lock...and then try to lock themselves several more times. In other words, press lock and the doors will go "lock lock lock lock".
Sounds like you have some electrical gremlins to sort out. double check the connections to your HIDs, I know I had a loose one and my passenger side won't light up the high beams. Who did you autostart?
It might have been audio concepts...their stickers are on my rear windows. But the way it acts it could very well have been the previous owner too Sent from my Milestone X using Tapatalk
If the fog lights are using a relay it could be that causing the Hella's working intermittently, either the relay itself or a poor connection at the relay pin terminals. Could be a poor ground to the Hellas, check all connections. If Hellas are directly wired to the HID ballast 12 volt power supply line check the connection there. Pull the Hella's fuse/relay to see if hi/low HID feature problem is being caused by the way the Hellas are wired in. Sounds like the Viper control board has issues with disarming the alarm off/unlock and multiple lock pulses.
The hellas work fine all the time. Never had an issue with them Sent from my Milestone X using Tapatalk
The highs just did their thing again this morning. I turned my lights on and just for fun turned on the highs. The hellas and the highs turned on, when I turned them off the hellas turned off but the highs didn't Sent from my Milestone X using Tapatalk
For the auto start you could get a new key faub or try resetting your system. Google the manual for it an follow their instruction. I had an autostart that went crazy after the battery got disconnected an had to reprogram it. Just something to check that could be causing problems with the locks
