Go for it man. Make sure you get a 2 speed kit so you keep that truck cool. Call troyerperformance. I think they have a kit for your truck aswell.
Gotts mod tuned will result in about 10hp. Most cais will see 15 or less tuned. Not a big enough difference to pay $200+ more
The gotts mod for our year blows. I seen no gains from it but im going with a cai that i know is better then the gotts. Im not dissing the gotts mod because for some people they can tell a diffrence I mean seriously this is for the people who done the gotts mod that felt no differece between stock and thank you for posting about troyers controllers. Their fans are good but get a different controller.
Might be for different years of your body style. I know that there are like 3 tune revisions for the NBS from the dealer from 04 on so some might be tuned differently from factory so they may see better gains. I was just looking at the dyno results from a tuner company (I forgot which)
Troyer and php done a dyno I believe. The best cai was the air force 1 3.5" followed closely by s&bs cai. So it's a no brainer which cai to go with if you are not interested in the gotts. When I done the gotts, I was not expecting alot but a difference. Didn't notice anything. So I was let down. I even dropped a k&n filter in it and unhooked the battery for the PCM to reset. Still nothing, so this week I was thinking. So started doing research. This is what I came up with. Some might disagree, but I won't sit here and argue with them. I done almost everything to my 04 4.6 that was exhaust, headers, programmer, and cai. So I have experienced my mistakes. So now I research for our friends here so they don't make the same mistake I did. Helping is what these forums are here for. To many people bring up the gotts mod for my liking. I know their are people looking for this information so they can decide which route is right for them.
