Well I had condensation and water in my piaa lights from god only knows what, so I decided to take them apart and figure out the issue. First thing I saw was mud, dirt, water, rust, and nastiness everywhere. Old light bulbs looked like this so I used my buddys discount at oreillys and got new ones for half price. New bulb Basically just had to pull apart the lenses and stuff and cleaned them all up really good with wire brush and sandpaper. Then to make them look decent I hit it with primer and black gloss paint. Continued....
The water had started eating away the chrome reflector on the back of the housing so I went ahead and took it off. Its sort of a ceramic bowl in the way it feels. Stick on chrome FTW!!! Put the stick on chrome on the reflector part and started to piece the lights back together. Used a shat ton of silicone because the lights are under my truck and the only part you can see is the front. So yeah, they look terrible on the back but they work now, and hopefully won't leak anymore.
My only concern with it is how reflective it actually is. It stuck really well. Only one light needed it so hopefully I can't tell a difference.
Turns out one light is a little brighter than the other. Oh well doesn't really bother me. I must have bought the cheap stick on chrome
Figured being PIAA they would have had an o-ring gasket and a drain hole at the bottom. Looks the insides of the Honda Foreman 450 S lights I took apart last year.
They had multiple o ring gaskets but no drain plug or anything. I ditched the o rings when I took em apart.
Kinda surprised they started leaking that quick for such a name brand, even if they were submerged in mud.
