I didn't think so either. i took it apart thinking there was a loose bolt/nut. once i got the crossmember dropped i saw that the rubber on the inside of the mount was ripped apart.

started the cab support bushing replacement today!

got 5 of 8 bushings done. not sure how im going to the the rear most bushing on the driver side, the gas tank is right there.

the cab is now perfectly aligned and straight, body lines match, just have to twist the cab and bed slightly to fix the gapping between the two. cant wait to see how much the ride improves.

I was just about to say the same thing. Those bushings are pretty rough to say the least.

Yea they are pretty much gone. The new bushings are much bigger lol. I swear the front of the truck looks higher.

What's odd is the kit came with new bolts and nuts, obviously I couldn't use them cause the bolts won't fit with the body lift, when I put the new mounts in I tried putting the old bolts in that came with the body lift and they were way too short. I had to go to lowes and get 8 new bolts that are at least 3" longer than the bolts I had. The top bushing that goes between the cab and frame is probably 1/4" taller than the bushing I took out and then the bottom bushing that goes on the bottom of the frame has to be a lot thicker than the one that was in there, causing me to need much longer bolts.

Like I said, the only bushing I'm going to really have trouble with the the one above the tank. I may have to drop the tank to get to it.

Ran into another small problem, the kit I bought only has 6 bushings. I need a total of 8. The box says "xtra cab" right on it. Sent energy suspension an email to see if I can get 2 bushings sent to me to finish.

Think they used two more on a 7700 for extra support? I don't really see why they would, but you never know.

probably not but you never know.

i got the last one on this morning and everything tightened down. ride is noticeably softer. cant wait to get those last two replaced.

sadly i think my body line may still be slightly off, im always so damn anal about stuff.

guys I have a body repair question.

I have a whole maybe 2" wide that I need to repair on my rocker panel. its on the panel I repaired last year. the metal was a little weak I guess, this portion was not repaired. it actually butts up to the part that was repaired.

    anyways,

I took my grinder to it to clean the paint of as well as the weak metal. I want to fill the spot but im afraid if I weld a small piece of steel in there that I will just burn through a bunch of metal cause its so thin.

is it possible to use some filler and fill it it? Ive read that filler should be no thicker than 1/4" so would I use some screen behind it?

the inside of the hole has be painted with por-15 as well as the outside, I know ill need to rough it up a bit to get the filler to stick.

what do yall think? the hole is at the corner of the rocker panel.

EDIT: correction, hole is only about 1 1/2" wide in a small area. look like I might be able to fill it.

I saw a thread on Pirate (I think) where a guy who had rusted panels replaced them with 3/16 steel plate and then painted factory colors over the outside and por-15 on the inside. No more rust and never have to worry about door dings lol
