Pity7700 Build thread, why not? pic heavy!

alright josh has been helping me try to get this damn pressure gauge set up but i havent had any luck. for some reason i dont have as much room as he does by the oil filter to fit the pressure sender on the T along with the original pressure switch. anyone know of another place i could put the sender unit so my gauge works? could i get an adapter and put it at the drain plug or would that not work? oh and i broke my damn oil pressure switch lol thats what happens when yo dont use the proper tools...got a new Borg warner switch for $10 and put it in. i swear everything i touch breaks

 

dang man that sucks, you werent able to get a wrench around the sensor? did you take the oil filter off to get more room?


and no, the oil pan will not work for a oil pressure sensor.

 

nah i cant get a wrench in there at all whether the filter is on or off. i just left it on. i was using some pliers to turn the switch but i hit the contact on the inside and bent it pretty good. when i got the new switch i did get a 13/16 long socket but theres no room to put the damn wrench on the socket lol the front differential is right there. i just used the socket and some pliers to turn the socket. worked much better.

theres gotta be another way to do this, what about the oil cooler?

 

i dont see why that wouldnt work, but idk how to do it. i guess you could just put the T in one of the fittings and do it that way.

 

yea thats what im thiking. thats going to be the only way. i dont understand why i dont have as much room as you do. everything is tucked up there really tight. i guess ill take a look at the oil cooler and see what i can do. if i undo the fittings any clue how much oil will drain from the cooler?

 

yeah me either. ill try and take a look at it tommorrow. im pretty sure i put the sensor there before i did the susp lift tho.

i wouldnt think it would be much. less than a quart i would guess.

 

its odd. i tried to put just the sender in the port and i had such a hard time moving it around under there. now i gotta find out what size the oil cooler fittings are so i can get some adapters. this sucks everything is wired and ready to fricken go lol all i gotta do is hook the sender up and hook the sender wire up.

 

so i blew a COP on the way home from work tonight. bought a new one and put it on. the plug was still sitting in the head. thought it was ok. turned the truck on and still sounded like crap. pulled it back off and noticed the plug was gone. at first i thought the plug fell into the engine...i about puked found it laying under the truck. guess it came out when i pulled the COP back off, didnt even hear it.

the plug tightens back into the hole, i dont think it stripped the head. what do you guys think? is it possible that the plug just worked its way back out? or is it blown?

i left the plug out for tonight since i need a new one and the engine is hot so i dont want to tighten that thing down.

 

any one got a clue?

 

Sorry bro i really dont. Try new plug it may have loosened up and lets hope thats the case.
