dude rub em down with some of that purple power deruster. i love that stuff! it some how changes the chemical make up of the rust and turns it black or gray. works pretty good i think. i should have brushed it on my rear door before i used plasti dip on it but i didnt. ill get some rhino line and roll that **** on.

i just hope when we weld this new piece on that it sits on right since i didnt cut all of the old rocker out on the front. if anything it would be off a slight amount on the underside but i want it damn near perfect. i didnt want to take the bed off and the front panel as well as both doors to replace the whole thing. plus some of the old rocker is still in good shape, made sure i sprayed it down with that purple power on the inside and undercoated it.

te purple power works really good. just make sure you chip the loose rust away. and try not to drip it on the concrete lol it leaves big white marks all over. it wont harm paint though if im not mistaken.

alright guys. got that shiz welded up.

got to the shop and cut the remainder of the panel out and took the grinder and cleaned all the paint off

cut the new piece down to size. we cut it about an inch longer than what we needed so we could weld it over top. test fit it before we welded it. it looks damn good. once i took the grinder to everything and cleaned the paint off i welded it in place. mark got the welder all set up and turned me and said alright just make sure you dont sit in one spot for too long so you dont melt the metal but make sure you feed enough wire to get a good weld. all he did was set the machine up and handed it to me:jester: i havent ever welded before in my life. he said that he could do it all for me but then i wouldnt feel like i did anything. i agreed with him, i didnt mind taking a shot at it at all.

i was using a huge lincoln electric MIG welder. it was actually pretty friggin cool. burnt the hell out of my clothing and skin but it was worth it. feel free to laugh at my welding job! ill get some pictures of the underside sometime tomorrow if i get a chance. mark went over anything that i didnt weld good enough to hold.

now all i have to do it go over it with a grinder and use some filler. anyone know what kind of filler is good to use? mark told me not to use regualr body filler cause it holds moisture. he said to get some fiberglass filler.
