Hope it helped! I grew to hate my Explorer with AWD.

In a car, AWD may be different. My best friends '10 Subaru Legacy 2.5L Turbo 6-spd manual is awesome in the elements. Well, awesome for a car driving in the elements anyways. Still can't get around nearly as easy as the good old family truckster.

I disagree with Fords decison to go Tauri platform on the new Explorer, but... It catered to its market really well.

We have the A4wd selection in our Expedition (her station wagon, my wagon's a tonner) and I grew to loathe it. Took all the sideways fun out of winter driving. Tracked liked a Subi in the snow. Hint of a slip, the front end would engage... Made it hard as hell to steer with the rear in the snow, or kick both ends free in a fresh drift.

She wants a 5/6 speed mannie, and a mannie shift t-case, so that may go away, as it needs a trans, and she refuses to spend a $ on the autotragic....

But i grew to enjoy the A4wd selector switch on the dash, she was safe, kids were safe, Monstro the Expedition tracked like a cat, and got everyone home. Good Enough for me.
