Guys I joined here a few weeks ago, and I got tons of help in picking the right size tires and wheels for my truck. I love this place so far and appreciate all of the help that I have gotten. I also had some problems with rough idling and an oil leak. I took it to a friend's shop today and he said that it needed plugs and the leak was from the driver's side valve cover gasket. He quoted me $640 to fix it all, but I think I can get the parts, do it myself, and save some money. I have read about a lot of problems with the plugs, and I was wondering if there are any tricks to keep them from breaking. If so, can you tell me what they are? Also, I want to go with a one piece plug, and is there a plug out there that you guys think is better than the OEM plugs?

How hard is the valve cover gasket to get to and change, and can anybody tell me how they did it? I have another vehicle to drive, so I am not trying to knock it out really fast. If I need to soak part of the plugs or if the valve cover gasketis time consuming it won't be a problem to take my time. Thanks a lot for the help.

I run one piece brisk plugs in my truck.

When i changed my plugs all i used was PB Blaster.Sprayed inside the plugs walls.Let her soak for about 30 minutes then removed them.Only one broke off.I got the extractor tool for $70.00 from my snap on guy and removed the other with no problem at all.Just take your time.If you hear some squealing while removeing them.Slow back it off, spray alittle more PB Blaster and do it again.Any questions.Let me know

Does my truck take the plugs that are longer than normal size sparkplugs?
