So when I bought my truck it already had a Viper remote start system installed, I didn't even think to check it because the first keys he gave me had the stock clicker on them and I didn't see the viper one until we were leaving, but anyways what happens is when I try to use the Viper clicker lock and unlock buttons make the lights on the truck flash but no lock/unlock. The alarm button makes the alarm go off and the start button makes the lights flash also. Sorry for the long post but basically all I want to know is first where do they mount the boxes when they install these so I can check that all the wiring is plugged in. Also if anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be let me know. Thanks

normally they are under the column. I bet u gotta press one button x times for it to start. like maybe press unlock 3 times.

Theres 4 buttons on the clicker, 1 lock 2 unlock 3 alarm 4 start, I know you have to click start twice to start it but the problem is if you click either unlock, lock, or start the lights flash but nothing else. The alarm button works. I'll have to look up under the dash, thats kinda what I thought but didn't really know.

Most vehicles with a factory alarm or any other alarms need a 2way system, and vehicles equipped with factory keyless entry need a bypass box I think, and need to be programmed. I would get the model # off of the main box and look up the manual online and see how to reprogram the system
